Legacy in the Dust: The Four Aces Story

We went to see this last night, a documentary by Winstan Whitter.
The old footage is fantastic, the ending sad & made me angry.
I didn't know that so many important musicians had played in Dalston Lane, the building was of historic importance, but hey, its gone & now a block of flats is in its place!
See here for a taster, or go to the Hackney Museum to see an exhibit . .

Try to go, Its on at BHVU Gallery

Trunk Records

Speaking of Trunk Records
We thought we'd give you a little tip.

Our favourite Trunk CD of the moment is 'Moondog and Suncat Suites' by Kenny Graham and his Satellites
"This album is extraordinary. It's where British jazz meets Moondog meets Joe Meek. Kenny Graham, one of the most forward thinking of all British jazz men, heard the street recordings of Moondog in 1956, made this album of cover versions mixed with his own impressions of new Moon cues. Haunting, mysterious, exotic, beguiling, and with a sensational jazz line up, all spaced out by the early engineering of Joe Meek. Mindblowing."

Jonny's son listens to it at bedtime & so do we.

Oh and of course we still love this
